At Massaponax mission education encourages the spiritual transformation of regular Christians into on-mission Christians. Mission Education organizations, resources, strategies and events are designed to awaken those in our church to personal involvement in the Great Commission. These tools help us to actively join God on mission and grow to be passionate advocates for worldwide mission causes. Consider getting involved in one of these mission groups. You are never too old or too young to BE ON MISSION for Christ!
The Great Commission
"19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV).
Women's Missionary Union
Woman’s Missionary Union is built upon the following core values:
We uphold the foundational principles of the priesthood of every believer and the autonomy and uniqueness of each local church in carrying out the Great Commission. We embrace the strategic role of prayer and giving for missionaries and missions needs. We recognize the role of family in discipleship and missions development. We recognize the giftedness of women and girls and accept the responsibility to help them use their gifts in serving Christ. We accept the responsibility for nurturing preschoolers, children, youth, and adults in missions. We accept the responsibility for developing and equipping missions leaders. We accept the biblical mandate to respond to human need with actions modeled by Jesus Christ and with the message of God’s redemptive plan. We partner with other Great Commission Christians to lead a lost world to Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ, Son of God, gave His life a sacrifice for the salvation of all the people of the world, fulfilling God’s plan for the ages as revealed in the Bible, God’s Holy Word.
The WMU at Massaponax meets the first Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm at the church.
Baptist Men on Mission
The Baptist Men is a fellowship of men and boys organized to advance the cause of Christian missions through education and promotion., designed to inform, motivate, and involve them in the hands on mission work of their local churches. This should challenge and assist them into developing a more meaningful and personal life-style to Christ's mission at home and abroad. Mission Education is designed to awaken Christian men and their churches to a personal involvement in the Great Commission, to actively join God on mission, and to grow to be passionate advocates for worldwide mission causes.
MBC Baptist Men's group meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the church.
Children in Action (CIAs)
Children in Action is the mission organization for both boys and girls in grades 1 through 6. In CIAs we learn what missionaries do, pray for missionaries and their work, study how we can help other people and tell them about Jesus, learn about countries around the world, and share in Christian fellowship with friends. We also do HANDS ON projects where we get to carry out the mission that God has put before us. Come and get involved!
CIAs meet on the Wednesdays at 7 PM.
Acteens
The Acteens is a mission group for girls in grades 7th through 12th. In Acteens, girls grow toward becoming all that God created them to be. Designed with the needs and interests of teenaged girls in mind, Acteens is an opportunity to grow in understanding God, yourself, and others.
Acteens meet every other month after the Sunday worship services. See the church bulletin for the next meeting date.
Mission Friends
Mission Friends is an organization for young children ages 2 years to 5 years old. Its primary objective is to teach missions attitudes and concepts to all preschoolers. Mission Friends provides missions education to help these younger children become aware that not everyone knows of God’s love and to understand ways they can help others know about God’s love.
Mission Friends gather together on Wednesdays at 7 PM for crafts and stories about missionaries and their lifestyles.
